Hold the vision

The hardest time to hold the vision for our goals, is when we are faced with obstacles.

There are many types of obstacles we have to maneuver on our path.  The most difficult is our mind.

The thoughts and beliefs that we dwell on each day, prevent us from moving past these barriers. These thoughts prevent us from listening to our intuition. These thoughts prevent us from making effective decisions and taking the right actions.

Before I trusted in the synchronicity of life, I would say “Oh of course this would happen” or “Why don’t I seem to achieve my goals?” It was always my fear and my mind that created the barriers.

Wanting life to be perfect was another barrier I faced. I saw obstacles as a negative experience.  I believed that if I didn’t succeed the first time, or was presented with a challenge, that somehow I had failed. I believed I didn’t deserve to receive what I needed.

The challenges and obstacles that faced me were my learning curves.  They helped me slow down and to seek clarity. They helped me change course and find a better way to move forward. They helped me become patient and strong.

Our barriers can be:

  • Lack of inspiration or desire
  • Lack of knowledge
  • Lack of skill
  • Fear of change
  • Fear of failure
  • Feeling unworthy
  • Lack of discipline

Find all the barriers that prevent you from achieving your dreams. Practice stillness. In the stillness, you will find wisdom and the answers to shift any obstacles.

  1. What a wonderful post, ah yes silencing the monkey mind. It feels so good when we we are able to breathe and not get caught up, even if it is only momentarily as when in prayer, meditation, or exercise. Letting go of our fears, and being willing to take a step, that is truly where the healing is done. Blessings to you.

    1. I think sometimes we ignore the little obstacles that don’t bother us so much. But I think these are the important signs to say “stop and listen.” If we don’t, we may get a big wake up call. No one wants that. 🙂

  4. Thank you for The beautiful Cherokee blessings. Right, hate those wake up calls!!! Love clarity. I love it when clarity comes in a flash, but mostly have to listen for it. It is easiest for me to do that in nature. Harder in the hustle and bustle. Fortunately, I am less and less in hustle and bustle!

    1. Nature is our gift Mary, and you remind us of that on your beautiful blog. You are right, it is very difficult to find it in the hustle and bustle. If we all lived on the land, we would be stress free!

  5. Karen as you know I have had plenty of time to be still lately and no energy to create. So I let it go and found a new appreciation for just being able to carry out the mundane chores. Yet whilst sitting there I also knew I should not fight this obstacle. I could not remember the last time I sat and rested. Looking forward to getting back to caring for my family and my art will always be there.Good results from specialists helps set the mind right and I will take one day at a time and live in the smallest of moments.

    1. Kath, I am so glad you had a good result from the specialist. It does shift our minds to move forward. It takes patience as you know to accept our obstacles. You will be so grateful to be back to normal, in the meantime……rest and nurture. You deserve it. 🙂

  6. Thank you for the compliment about my blog, Karen. I was in town in the hustle and bustle this morning and had a most unpleasant business conversation. I usually like this guy,so I hadn’t really protected myself. I felt like he spewed negativity all over me. I hate being caught off guard like that. It was like a barbed arrow. It stayed with me all day, until I got home to Nature. Aaaahhhhh. I think I kept my clarity through the conversation, but wow. Bam! I just re-read the blessing you posted. So good.

    1. It can be diificult when we are caught off guard. Glad you could connect to nature and let go of his heavy energy. When that happens to me, I sit still and visualize forgiveness for them straight away and take some deep breaths. This helps begin the clearing so I don’t hold onto it for long. Thankyou for sharing Mary, I appreciate your thoughts.

  7. That’s great. I wish I would remember to do that straight away. I get caught up in doing the next thing, and find that the barb is still there later. Sometimes, too, I think I have forgiven and later find out feelings are still there. Then I have to forgive myself for the self judgement that i didn’t really forgive him as much as I thought. Funny, these little circles. But again – love, forgiveness and clarity are key in all of these things. Thanks for the reminder, Karen.

  8. I saw obstacles as a negative experience — This is why I’m always open-minded, doesn’t complain. When there is a problem, I see it as a challenge. I may show frustration, I may get anxious or headaches 🙂 , but I embrace it. You can say I thrive on it. I rather have situations that fluctuate good and bad than the boring smooth sailing. 😉 . Every week, we have this group meeting where we “discuss problems” at work… I hate it! 😀 Too much complaining for me to be inside that room.

    1. Wow, thats great Rommel. I don’t know many people who can embrace problems but if you can see it differently it helps 🙂 When you think about it, discussing problems is crazy! You should discuss what is great at work. Have a good weekend.

  9. It’s been a difficult week, and yesterday was the most difficult. Spells like this always seem to trigger my personal “favorite” obstacle – the feeling of unworthiness. I was thankful yesterday morning when I drove past a sign on a church lawn that said “don’t give up”. I needed that one to get through the day. But, something’s getting better.

    1. I am sorry it has been a difficult time for you MK. Feelings of unworthiness are in us all. Believing this is not true, is hard to let go of. You are talented and passionate about life. You are perfect, just the way you are. 🙂
