Harmony

Do you know that our soul is composed of Harmony? – Leonardo Da Vinci

Mother Teresa says, “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”  When I feel resistance or feel a lack of harmony in my life, I question myself.  “Where have I disconnected?”  “Where have I judged?”  “What do I need to accept in another or myself?”  “How can I connect deeply again?”

Cultivate harmony within yourself, and harmony becomes real;
Cultivate harmony within your family, and harmony becomes fertile;
Cultivate harmony within your community, and harmony becomes abundant;
Cultivate harmony within your culture, and harmony becomes enduring;
Cultivate harmony within the world, and harmony becomes ubiquitous.

Live with a person to understand that person;
Live with a family to understand that family;
Live with a community to understand that community;
Live with a culture to understand that culture;
Live with the world to understand the world.

How can I live with the world?
By accepting.

    “Live with the world to understand the world.
    How can I live with the world?
    By accepting.”
    Shall I just quote the whole thing?!
    I love the Tao Te Ching!
    Acceptance = Harmony
    Thank you Karen. As always, a post full of deep wisdom.
    Peace, Love, Acceptance and Harmony,
    Mary

  2. This idea of Harmony is one our world is in desperate need of finding. Acceptance has been replaced by fear, anger and hatred. Hopefully awareness and human compassion will open the minds of dissidents to a calmer way of thinking and acting.

  3. Harmony, we’re in great need of it in our time.
    Most of people live in disharmoney. Many are lacking compassion and understanding. Thank you for sharing your wisdom – it’s much needed 🙂

  4. Oh Karen, this message is one so desperately needed in our world today. There is so much fear and hatred of ‘the other.’ I sometimes despair of ever getting back on the right track. Thank you for sharing…

  5. Beautiful reminder about the importance of accepting. And I love Mother Teresa’s quote. Indeed we belong to each other. Thank you, Karen.

  6. Karen, I like the post and the quote from Mother Teresa.
    There are those who see the world as totality. They are the people who are of the world.
    Then there are those who see the world as a stepping stone to totality. They are the people who are in the world.
    Each find peace in their particular preference. Yet peace between the two peoples can only be made manifest through mutual respect.
    Although the truth about each preference exists, it may not be accepted here and now. For the truth not willingly accepted, leads not to peace, but to turmoil.

    1. So true Alan. There is enough turmoil and fear in the world at present. Each of us are responsible to help heal this wound with our actions and thoughts. Thankyou for your thoughts.
